"The Art Program at California State University Channel Islands (CSUCI) focuses on interdisciplinary studies in fine art, digital art technology, graphic design and art history. Our programs emphasize an innovative approach to artistic process and problem solving. The integration of traditional media and emerging digital technologies in studio art, art history and interdisciplinary studies focus on developing a solid foundation leading to advanced work in art media and theory." (CSUCI Art Website)
"A culminating interdisciplinary experience in which students from various Art disciplines work in groups with non-art majors and community members on projects specifically designed to meet a common goal. Activities supervised by sponsoring faculty are executed on campus and/or on-site in conjunction with community businesses or organizations." (CSUCI Course Description)
During this session of Art Capstone, eleven groups were formed in order to create and execute a diverse array of projects. Ranging from painting murals and creating specific art pieces for charity, to teaching art history to children and aiding fellow students with their professional portfolios. This website was created in conjunction with Capstone in order to showcase our individual and group achievements over the semester. In-depth explanations and visual documentation of each individual project can be viewed by navigating the "groups" tab at the top of the page.
