492 Internship in the Arts (1-3)
All Art Student Interns are required to pass an Art Program internship
portfolio review related to the duties of the intern situation they
request to be placed into. In addition, a full-time Art faculty
member must agree to supervise their specific internship. All students
requesting internships will go through this process during the first
week of classes, at which point, if they meet the requirements for
an internship and a specific internship is
available, the internship forms will signed by the Supervising
Faculty Member, and the Art Program Chair. At that time the student
will be
given a permission number and allowed
to register for ART 492 internship credit. In addition to the on-site
internships with community organizations/businesses/studios, all
Art student interns are also required to attend an on campus monthly
Art Program internship meeting.
ART 494 Directed Independent Study (3)
All Art Student requesting Independent Study are required to work
with a full-time Art faculty member in the designing of individual
Art projects or research they will execute or conduct throughout
the semester. All students requesting independent study will go
through this process during the first week of classes. After the
individual projects and contract agreements are made between the
Art student and supervising Art faculty member, they will be signed
by the
Art Program Chair.
At that time the student will be
given a permission number and allowed
to register for ART 494. At the end of the semester, students will
present their project or research to the supervising Art faculty
member for evaluation and final grade.
ART 499 Arts Capstone Project (3)
This Fall 03 semester, only a very few students will be permitted
to work on capstone (individual or group) projects. These projects
should be executed during the student's final semester at CSUCI.
Any student wishing to enroll in Art 499 should contact
the supervising Art Faculty member, and the Art Program Chair to
discuss the possibilities for capstone projects.
This process takes place during the first week of classes. If
a capstone project is approved, students will be given permission
numbers that will allow them to register for the course.
