Current Show: Book Art by CSUCI Students and Faculty
December 18, 2008 -January 22, 2009
Artist's Reception: Thursday, January 22, 6-8PM.

Big, little, bound, framed, digital, drawn, sculpted, painted, with photographs or written on are just some of the ways that students have approached the amazing and protean media of artist’s books.
These treasures of craftsmanship will take every possible form and method of bookmaking. From the personal to the public, from death to politics, all corners of life are fair game. Each book a fresh and unexpected take on the age old, pre-mass media age of information. Each book an unexpected, dazzling work of art as well as a container of art.
This show consists of collected works from subjects as diverse as interpretations of the ancient Mixtec Codex Nuttall for children; personal journals and response books inspired by students’ trip to Paris over this last summer; 3-D books made from a single sheet of paper; and photography books with subjects as diverse as car culture, love, self-discovery and more.
