Current Show: Anna Siqueiros: Recent paintings

Anna Siqueiros' paintings are personal statements about movement. She expresses that it is a dance about creation and a message and she wants the viewer to feel a sense of peace and tranquility by guiding the eye through time and space—an entrance through passageways of sheer doors and windows that produces another state of mind from the past to the present in to a paralleled universe to bring forth a harmony with ones environment. She prefers working in a variety of media—unison of acrylics, mixed media, and collage. Music plays a large roll when she is painting. For it creates a feeling that allows her to make free-flowing gestures of paint across the canvas—expressing feelings of past and present while her brush dances.

ABOUT THE GALLERY
CSUCI Exhibitions Gallery -Camarillo is a cultural outreach partnership created between the California State University Channel Islands Art Program and Dr. Michael Czubiak, who has provided CSUCI with gallery space in his building located in "Old Town" Camarillo. In addition to affording CSUCI students with the opportunity to exhibit their art in the local community adjacent the University, the gallery also presents curated shows of regional, national and international artists, providing the University community and Ventura County residents with the opportunity to view quality exhibitions, significant works of art and attend stimulating cultural events.

Regular gallery hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.
